How much leeway over the speed limit does Canadian Highway Patrol usually allow? (2015, school)

In most of the US on the major highways you can usually go up to about 10 MPH (or roughly 15 KPH)over the speed limit without getting a speeding ticket.
What is the leeway on major Canadian highways?
In Ontario, as of September 2007, drivers caught speeding 50 km/h over the posted speed limit have the vehicle that they are driving impounded immediately for 7 days and their license suspended for 7 days and have to appear before the court. For a first conviction, they face an additional $2,000-$10,000 fine and 6 demerit points; they may also face up to 6 months in jail and licence suspension of up to two years. For a second conviction within 10 years of the first conviction, their license may be suspended for up to 10 years
As with anyplace you get to know where you can safely drive faster than the speed limit and where the cops generally let you.
In the city I stick to the 50 Kph on most roads since with school zones and traffic lights it just makes sense. There are some roads within the city that I do 60 Kph with no issues.
On the freeway if safe to do so I will do 10 Kph over and in more remote areas sometimes 20 Kph over.
Some people want speed limits raised, but I think the psychology used in posting speed limits is knowing people will go over since cops can't be everywhere and they rather have people doing 120 in a 100 zone rather than changing it to 120 and have them do 140.

It's been proven that raising the speed limit does NOT cause drivers to go faster. Drivers will travel at the speed they feel comfortable at irrespective of the speed limit. On I-85 in Virginia which used to be 65 mph and was recently raised to 70 mph, average speeds haven't increased at all.

Proven by who? I dont think your statement above is true. The 401 highway between Toronto and Windsor is straight and has three lanes - easy to drive fast there ...... if the limit were raised to 140 Km/Hr, people would easily do 150+
Yes, people might not be speeding in California or Colorado where the highways are windy at times. But give them a stretch that easy to speed ... and they will.
There's a stretch of highway in Montana that lets you drive at 85mph/137kmph - people drive fast there!
