I'm 21 going on 22 years old and want to go to Canada (and its not because of trump or any other politician, celebrity or any other public figure). Almost a year ago when I was 19/20 I was arrested for a misdemeanor, but never got convicted for the charge. I eventually ended up just doing community service through a diversion program since it was my first offense and getting my record expunged. I was wondering will I still be able to go to Canada or am I banned for life?

If you were not convicted and don't have a record I don't see why you would have a problem. You should be good.
I would contact the police service where the offence occurred and request a clearance letter. If you don't do anything about it, even a discharge can stay on your record and could cause you problems...I know it did for me. This is just a good thing to do in any case, whether for travelling or more importantly applying for a job.

That is a different story from just coming up for a visit. At your age, there's no way you have the skills and experience to qualify under the skilled worker program. You might be able to come up on a student visa and transition as some I know have. I could of course be mistaken, what program are you looking to qualify for immigration under? If it helps any I'm about to graduate with a degree in computer science and I have a couple of years in self taught programming/coding skills. I asked this same question on yahoo answers earlier and people are telling me that my chances are slim to none since I was still "convicted" although I never serve jailtime.
According from another source since I did a diversion program I still pleaded guilty and even though it has been expunged it can still be seen on police databases as well as immigration databases.
Depending on the crime, how long ago it was and how you have behaved since, you may still be allowed to come to Canada, if you:
convince an immigration officer that you meet the legal terms to be deemed rehabilitated, or
applied for rehabilitation and were approved, or
were granted a record suspension or
have a temporary resident permit.
