Hi, I haven't been on this forum in a while but once again I'm in a situation where I might have to move for work. I'm a third year electrician and work has dried up in my area (Newfoundland). I thought about moving somewhere else in the country for work, but I haven't had much luck in figuring out where to go. Problem is I have a rental property that I've been fixing up over the last few years, but my apartment still needs some cosmetic repairs. I also suffer from anxiety so I don't know how to make this change in my life. It sucks when the rest of my friends have work in their fields here and I'm always stuggling trying to find work in mine. I also have an IT background but there seems like there's no work for that here either.
Should I take some crappy job and wait to finish my apprenticeship here or go somewhere where I can finish my apprenticeship? I'm 32 so I would like to settle down at some point, but right now I can't afford it.

There's lots of work in Vancouver lately in all fields, and IT has plenty in particular. Housing's pricey of course, but isn't increasing anymore and is headed south. Might not be a bad fit!
....... go somewhere where I can finish my apprenticeship

I think completing your apprenticeship as soon as possible should be your number one priority, even if it means you have to go somewhere else to do it.
