Funny story! He didn't know there was more than one Sydney when he booked his flight.

Clad in a T-shirt, sweatpants and a thin jacket, he landed in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where residents were bracing for a snowstorm expected to bring gusting winds of up to 90km/h and another 10 to 15cm (four to six inches) of snow.

Why the heck would an 18 y.o book his own ticket lol... I think this happened a few years ago to an Italian couple.. Hey, Nova Scotia is a beautiful Province - I love it there but yeah, I think i'd prefer a June/July trip to N.S vs a March one lol.. Kid is crazy for not taking the free ticket to Australia!

Not that lucky! The town in BC is spelled differently than the places in NS and AUS - Sidney.

Exactly!

A beautiful town close to the BC Ferry terminal at Schwartz Bay, just across the 17 from the airport.

Were I choosing between the two Canadian Sydneys it would be a toughie fer sure but having spent considerable time in or near both of them, I think I'd choose B.C.

Looks nice! In the summer I don't think i'd complain about a trip to either Sy(i)dyney in Canada. As long as I have a car in both places because those are the places you need to go out and explore!

Vancouver Island and the Gulf Island are indeed worthy of exploring. Stunning scenery, wilderness, open beaches to the Pacific, cute towns. One of my favourite places on earth is Salt Spring Island.

Just that it's so much further away from where he started out from. Other than that it's a pleasant little town.

For sure. I've taken a look at some images and would agree! I've been to Vancouver twice but never Victoria so I really need to make my way out there in the near future.
