Just go to the TD Bank in downtown Portland, you can exchange your USD to CAD there.

OK. I was interested in whether any Canadians coming down to Maine would be willing to bring boxes of Canadian nickel coins with them on their visit to Portland. I would buy the boxes they bring. I collect Canadian nickels.

That's a quirky collection! I love it!

If you'd posted this last year, I'd have brought you some. (I was in Portland again. What a GREAT place! I love it more every time I go.) Anyway, I can't mail you boxes of them but I just pulled all of the nickels out of my wallet and there are 22 of them. I will gladly mail them to you if you PM me your address. Or if there are specific ones -- years -- that you're looking for, I can check if any of the 22 match up and just send you those.

You sound like a bit of a quirky nickel collector yourself, Dawn. 22?

What are the border customs regulations for somebody doing that? Or for mailing them?

No restrictions from what I read unless you maybe are trying to bring over more than $10,000 in Canadian currency but even then I think maybe going from Canada to the US it is maybe not even that restrictive. Bringing over $10,000 into Canada you have to declare it definitely from what I read.
