Here it is July 23rd dad's radiation treatments ended 10 days ago. I noticed a strong redness in the tissue just outside the area being radiated. This red area in the 10 days since the treatments have turned into more tumors. Dad's appetite has slowed down, he's constantly sleeping. His walking has become problematic, so much so that he asked for a wheel chair when we were leaving the hospital after his visit with the cancer doctor. The doctor suggested we look into hospice at this point, as he feels dad has perhaps 6-7 weeks before passing.

Will be 85 in two weeks. Had Thyroidectomy (Cancer) 10 yrs ago and now it is coming back along with another lump close by.

Do feel the clock is finally winding down for me...no regrets but just a fact of life we all may have to endure.

6-7 weeks sounds familiar while actually a 3 day period will show before passing.

Saw this with my late wife (Cancer at age 43) and my mother (brain cancer at age 80)..

My heart is sad and a tear is shed.

Sorry to hear of your cancer returning, along with that the hardship of watching others in your life suffer with it. Dad has short term memory loss, so he doesn't grasp for long the gravity of his situation. I guess that's a good thing, for him and those of us close to him. He knows, like yourself, that he's had a long and fruitful life, but like all things it ends eventually. I wish you well and thanks.

My dad passed away last Thursday August 4th, I held his hand as he breathed his last. He was a great man and father. Thanks for all the help and advice over the last several months.
