Is there anywhere online I can go to compare insurance rates between cars especially the likes of a Corvette, Firebird, etc?

It will be almost impossible to get actual rates because they vary with the record of the one buying it.You can call any agent and get a quote but you wont get a straight answer on line unless you identify yourself etc .

It is way more complicated than that. Yes insurance rates vary based on where you live and drive.

But the OP wanted to compare rates between different cars. I have searched many times for that information - but it is not online anywhere.

The closest I have come is the IIHS ratings of Insurance Losses by Model:

IIHS vehicle ratings

It does not give rates. It does provide relative scoring of insurance losses. A vehicle with higher insurance losses is likely to cost more to insure.

Can't you call your agent and say you're thinking about buying these cars, what would they cost to insure?

Bingo. That is what I did when I was looking to purchase a new car. Now if this is a specialty vehicle (classic car), they may not have that type of info easily available. With classic cars, there is a different type of policy you can purchase. You can purchase collision coverage to cover up to a certain amount. Meaning, you can purchase collision to cover 15k if your vehicle is totaled. This is a good idea because classic cars will not alter much in value with age since they are already old.
