Does anyone else have a cat walk in their house? Or a cat house for outside?

My neighbor built me a catwalk in my present house - it is a series of graduated wooden shelves that go up across 2 walls to a sunny area above a coat closet. With the cat walk they can run through 3 rooms without touching the floor, sit and sun near the ceiling, and then jump down and go out the back window into the cat house. The shelves actually look really nice - someone without cats might use them for plants or display items.

The cat house was also built for me by my neighbor. It is 8' x 12' and abuts the back of the house, although it isn't permanently attached. It was really simple to make - just a cube minus one side made with 2by4s. I stapled green garden wire onto the wood for the walls. We attached pegs high up in the corners to hold wooden shelves for cat perches. In good weather the cats can go out the back window into their house and be outside safely and roll in the grass and laze in the sun. It looks a little funky, but no one sees it but one neighbor.

I'm moving on Sunday and we will MISS MISS MISS our cat walk and cat house!!!!!!

Our cats would be scared of a cat walk. They like to be under things, not on top of them (unless it's my lap!).

Take plenty of pictures of your cat walk and build a new one in your new house! Good luck with your move.

Most Outrageous: The Cat's House : Video : Animal Planet

I think these people started the cat walks, etc. I have one of their books.

Just a cat perch, which she does not use much anymore.

It will be your priority when you get settled to find someone to do the same in your new home, that's all!

How about some pictures?
