Well, Ruby's news is not good.
She was probably shot many years ago so there would not be any way for me to find out who did it.
Her blood work was normal, but when the head vet looked at her X-rays, he was very troubled. He warned me that it is possible that she has bone cancer which would mean radiation, chemo and her leg would have to be amputated & of course, there is no guaranty.
Meanwhile, she is on an anti-inflammatory drug to see if she will more comfortable.
I am not sure that I would be able to do that, especially after I watched Gracie suffer so much at the end.

Oh no I am so sorry. The silver lining is that, whatever happens to Ruby now, she is in the best hands she could be. She is in a loving home where every effort will be made to keep her comfortable and give her a good quality of life for whatever time remains for her, may it be many years.
You've done this for her, given her a loving home and the medical attention she needs. You will do whatever is best for her, and no matter what happens next, because of you she knows what it is like to be loved and cherished.
So sorry to hear that. You made a difference in each other's lives though, for however long that happens to be. That's worth a lot, no matter what happens. Good luck.
Nancy, I'm so sorry the news about Ruby was not what you'd hoped. No matter what comes next, you have already given Ruby so much -- a good home and lots of love.
This is so sad. I hope the meds help make her more comfortable. I know whatever you decide to do is in her best interest.
