It just realized how much cats are really like two year old kids. Here are a few things I've concluded:
1. They can't talk but they will try to let you know how exactly they feel and what they want by crying or whining.
2. They have to investigate everything by smelling it (cats) or putting it in their mouths (child).
3. The intelligence level of both are about equal at this point but the human child will get smarter while the cat's goes no further.
4. They eat, play, sleep and poop. Nothing more, nothing less.
5. They will look in the mirror and don't realize that's themself.

Can you think of anymore?
I also disagree with #3. I think you are underestimating their intelligence, which leads me to also disagree with #4. You left out hunting nefarious creatures (mice, bugs, your feet, etc.), and actively plotting against their humans.
I can also add one to the list; when they want something, they want it right now. They have little patience for lazy humans and will raise the audio level accordingly when you're slacking off in your duties.
I was not going to respond to a person who obviously knows nothing about cats, but since a discussion has started, what the hell. All five points are wrong as it relates to cats. Probably 1 & 5 are true of two year olds. The rest of the list is crapola.
My cat has a different kind of intelligence than your two year old, soon to be 20 year old. And, even at 20 the cat has intelligence that your now 20 year old will not come close to. He may not be good at twitter and shooting up drugs, but he can take care of himself.
So, take the two year old back to his pen, and whatever you do, don't try to own a cat.
^ You're post is crapola. A 20 yo human's intelligence does not come close to an animal's? There is something wrong with you. FYI, I do have a cat and those are my experiences.
