My husband and I decided to keep her. We named her Luna. Took her to the vet because she was coughing alot and she ended up having feline emphysema due to asthma problems. We brought her inside to live and put her on prednisone but she apparently already had some serious lung damage which was not apparent when we first got her. She died during the night last week, it was really a sad thing to wake up to.
So, RIP to Lunacat the wanderer, who was cross-eyed and gap-toothed and sweet as can be.
My family says I should learn my lesson about sick stray creatures but I probably never will.
You should never feel the need to apologize, even for a second, for having the compassion to look after a sick or homeless animal. I think you've done a great thing and I really want to commend you for looking after Luna and providing her a home, even for a short time. I wish more people were like you.
Whilst passing through Atlanta, relatives somehow convinced me to depart with the stray cat that had been camped out on their porch. Took the cat on a 6 hr road trip home, during which she was super calm and sweet.
Here she is:

You have my sincerest sympathy. I know that feeling of loss so well when one of these little ones pass on to the Rainbow Bridge.
So sorry to hear about your Luna. I lost my Luna about 3 yrs. ago. We take in strays knowing that we are taking in total strangers. But in the long run they become our best friends.
