My most recent addition plays fetch. I was worried he'd outgrow it but so far he hasn't (he's maybe 10 months old now). It makes playing a lot easier for Mama! I wish the others would pick it up from watching him, but I guess I'm dreaming there. They just chase it, and then stand there looking at me. "OK, Mom, come get it and throw it again!

Ours is a about a year and a half old and no sign of stopping this. She will pester my husband like a dog when it wants a ball thrown. And bring it and stare at you until you have to throw it for her. I never knew any cats played fetch.
Greta is too cute! I only had one cat that would chase a ball, but he wouldn't bring it back or anything. Maybe Greta can teach my dogs a thing or too lol!
I'd love to have a cat who fetches! She is adorable. Vets have always told us to exercise our cat and we have just rolled our eyes and said, "you can't make a cat exercise!" It looks like there is at least one cat in the world who can be made to exercise. She'll obviously not have a weight problem as long as you are willing to throw her a ball.
Thanks for posting this. After losing my cat on Thursday, it is life-affirming to see a cat who is so active and enjoying life!
My sweet red boy who recently went to the bridge played fetch all his life, right up in fact, until 2 days before he died, when he just got too sick to play.

You can though, with perseverance, get a cat to exercise. Sometimes it's a simple as a diet improvement.
I had a cat that my neighbors daughter used to play with. I didn't know it until she showed me but yes, he would return the ball or rock or whatever she threw.
My childhood cat would fetch. When she felt like it.
