I'm not sure about what really is going on but I have to agree. If it it was my cat I would have certainly taken the offer for free help instead of waiting to be on TV with Jackson Galaxy.

We had a weird situation years ago. We had a tuxedo family cat named Sylvester and she was the nicest cat ever. She was gentle and loved both of my twin Sons, but was really closer to my one Son.

One day after we had her for years she went crazy and attacked the Son she was closest too. He was about 10 and she jumped on his leg and began to bite and attack him, and he had done nothing to provoke her at all. I ran up and grabbed her off his leg and she was trying to attack me so I flung her across the floor and closed the screen door. She jumped up and attached herself to the screen like a mad cat but finally relented and went away.

I thought she had rabies so we trapped her and took her to the vet, but she was fine. In fact, she was totally herself after that one incident. We have never been able to figure out why she was like that, it was so out of character for her........she was always sitting with my Sons and just a sweet cat all her life.

Very strange.

What a frightening story. How did you act around her after that? I think I would have been on guard all the time. Read a story about an elderly couple who were sitting by the fire with their german shepherd they had for about 4 years. Out of no where the dog attacked and killed the old woman. Some say the fire did something to the dog. Who knows.

We never could quite relax with her after that, always wondering if it would happen again, which it didn't. The vet had no explanation, and as much as I hate to admit it, I considered having her put down because my Sons come before a pet. But I didn't have the heart.........I just couldn't do it.

But she lived out a full life and except for that one time was fine. But it was very scarey to see how vicious a cat can actually become when they want to.
