He's a handsome boy all right! I have my second Russian Blue now, a female that I got from the local shelter. Her name is Sweet Pea, and she loves me no end. My first Russian, Samovar Kiska (he was purebred and came from a long line of grand champions) was also very devoted to me. Russian Blues bond strongly with their owners and sometimes get very jealous of other cats, so it's good yours is cordial to your Siamese. Both of my Russians have been known to chase other cats off the bed when I'm on/in it - they want me and the bed all to themselves. But they do make great bed-buddies! So glad you got your boy!
Thanks everyone! Well my poor little boy has been sick this week. He's had really bad diarrhea and has been hiding under the bed. He's withdrawn and is not the same cat. At first I thought the diarrhea was the change in diet, but it's been over 2 weeks. Plus, he started acting withdrawn and not cleaning himself the past couple of days. Anyone who adopted a shelter cat experience this? I haven't seen any worms in his poo.
I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.
Cat update: I just got back from the vet. In short, we don't know what's wrong with him! His fecal test was negative. Since I got him from the shelter, we have no way of knowing what the poor guy went through before I got him or what he was eating. He got a B-12 injection at the vet and came home with two meds. I also have to give him Immodium twice a day. I am keeping him isolated from my other cats for at least a week. He can't have food tonight and tomorrow afternoon he starts on prescription food (almost $8 a can!) and a probiotic for the next two weeks.
All I can say is he picked the right home. I am willing to take on the role of feline gastrointestinal rehab nurse and fix this cat!
He's doing much better!! I was amazed. 5 hours after the first dose of meds, he started acting like his normal self again. Wed will be his last day of meds and then another week of prescription food. I'm still keeping him isolated from the other cats. Very encouraged at his progress.

This is my first ever cat and people have told me he looks like a Russian Blue. I googled the breed and read that they are super friendly and affectionate, which describes my boy. How common are they?
