Various cats over the years, Blue my Siamese cat in high school lived to age 17. A beautiful little Abyssinian we had in Texas escaped through the back door and ran off, never seen again. A couple of free range cats also disappeared, cats are never allowed outside anymore. A couple more died from old age factors.
This time last year, after being catless for years, it started up again. One cat who is three, two who are a year. A roomy catio is in their future.
I lived next to the two cats I would rescue for 4-5 years before the family left and abandoned them. I can only guess the older one is 8-10 and the younger one is 6-8. Have no idea of the medical history, but they are both spayed.
How the f#@$ can you just move and leave two family members behind?
In our case, the Military wouldn’t let us take him with us from Hawaii to Florida….a young GI and his family re-homed him.
Our current friends are full blood Siberians, ages 15 and 8.
According to the SPCA, Buddy is 8 to 9 years old. Since moving to Stanislaus County, he is acting way younger (zoomies, playing with a ping pong ball, hijinks on the cat tree, etc.). Seems the larger space of the open concept studio agrees with him. He is a very highstrung scaredy-cat, so I was expecting the opposite. Turns out the move and starting over from scratch was much harder on me. Go figure.
