I don't have a cat, but my nephew is the editor for Shark Tank so we watched it last night. This seems like a brilliant invention, but on this particular You-Tube, the woman didn't like it and spent the whole time explaining why. Rather interesting.
So I wondered if any of you cat-owners have used this product. Apparently it's making millions, but I wonder if a large percentage are trying it, then giving up. I know some cats have learned this on their own.
The health aspect of being able to observe changes in things like urinary output and volume are probably the most important. If your cat was starting to develop a blockage you'd never know it until it was too late and their bladder was about to burst.

You may miss indicators of changes in your cat’s health
Urinary tract infections can be common (and even life-threatening) in cats. By scooping litterboxes, you can tell if your cats are urinating more or less frequently, or if the volume of each “event” is changing. At the first sign of urinary changes, you’ll want to get your cat to the veterinarian to check for a urinary tract infection or other problem (which can manifest in similar ways). However, if your cat is using the toilet, you will not be able to get this important information about your cat’s health and may miss out on the first clues that something is going on with your kitty. Similarly, changes in fecal texture and consistency can also give you important clues about your cat’s health. You may be able to SEE poops in the toilet, but if they’re in water, what can you really be sure about?
Seriously, if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't own a cat.
Toilet training is like feeding dry food, a convenience for the lazy human that has no benefit for the cat.
