Awesome hobby. Good way to get out and make some new friends. If it makes you feel good and makes you smile.......sweet!

My furbaby was put to sleep on Tues. I have been going to Youtube to see the pet videos. It helps.

janelle144: I am so sorry to read that you lost you furbaby. It's a terrible thing to have to go through. There are lots of sweet kitties at the animal shelter whose days are numbered.

I would like to get one right away but I still need to grieve for Simon. I have another cat but they are all different with their own personalities. Maybe in the Spring I will be ready.

Janelle144 - please accept my sympathy on the loss of your beloved Simon. He will always be a part of you, and you will never forget him, just as it should be. And when the time is right, when you are ready to open your heart and your home to another loving fur person, the kitty who is waiting for you now will come into your life.

Peace be with you.

My recently-developed addiction to petting lots of shelter kitties has given me some comfort. Mother would have approved big-time. My home kitty still likes to be petted but is isolating herself more and more. It's clear that I want the petting sessions more than she does right now. The shelter kitties have come to my rescue, by giving me this wonderful "fur therapy", as MidwesternBookWorm called it.
So sorry to hear about your Mother.......you can dedicate your new hobby in her memory.......if only others could learn that something so simple can be so rewarding.

Thank you so much. I do think of him at times and it is sad and I do have another kitty to hold but they all have their own personalities and cannot be replaced. My little Chianti is a girl and not as playful or fiesty as Simon was, that is what my hubby misses the most. Simon was a character.

I am thinking about getting another male in the Spring but will also need to take into account Chianti and her getting along with a kitten. I do hope they bond if I get one.

The vet's office where I buy my dog's food has a bunch of adoption kitties in cages and I usually spend at least 20 minutes playing with them everytime I go in there (:

(((HUGS))) LawoftheLand. May comfort be found somehow in this very difficult time. Keep in mind, your kitty loves you and will do so for all eternity, AND this is ONLY a temporary separation. Thank you for not letting her suffer. She will tell you when she is ready to leave. May God be with you.
