doubtful he actually raised his kids...both are estranged from him I believe. He was probably never around...not sure about their mother. Right or wrong...I generally blame the parents when stuff like this happens.

They are actually independent human beings. You can influence them (at best) but you can't control them.

But I think a parent can easily influence their child.
Especially the father.
I agree if you let your child do as they please as a child then they will grow up doing as they please which may include stupid things like this. I usually blame the parents as well. Because it is the only thing that seperates kids from each other how they were raised and by whom....jmo though
