So I just read that Natalie Portman is pregnant and engaged. She's also expected to win an Oscar for Best Actress. So 2011 should be a good year for her. Marriage, baby, Oscar. Stop me if this sounds familiar. Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Winslet, Hillary Swank. What do they all have in common? All got divorced shortly after their big wins. Hmm.
I'm a little disappointed I wasn't involved in anyway with her recent news.... Ok I take that back, I don't need to be involved in the movie just the baby making. She's beautiful and quite smart it seems so hopefully it works out for her and her new guy.
Well, I'm not surprised. Why would I be? She's a progressive young woman who's been in several relationships, so I don't think she's in the minority that believes that being married before getting pregnant is something you must do, but merely an option. I'm sure, however, that she will raise her child in the Jewish faith.
So, congratulations to them. She's the most beautiful actress nowadays and she was amazing in Black Swan!
She seems like the type that wouldn't get pregnant before marriage. Or maybe that's just her image.

Black Swan was a very different movie than most fascinating nonetheless.
She seems to be trying to change her "good girl" image. She has a movie coming up where she's in a FWB-type relationship and another movie where she sleeps with a married man and breaks up his marriage.

I bet if you polled people 5 or 8 years ago, and told them natalie portman would get pregnant before marriage and marry a dance choreographer, they would have told you, you're crazy. Like when Portman was in Star Wars episode 1 in 1999.
Also I noticed her real name is "Natalie Hershlag". Terrible screen name. Like Archibald Leach, Cary Grant. Names can have a pretty big impact on your career.

And I hope in your heart of hearts you don't think Jennifer Garner was a virgin before marrying even her first husband. Quite possibly Natalie and fiance's pregnany wasn't an oooooops one; could be they opted to have a child together. Either way--no big deal since they are both adults and seem capable of caring for a child. I don't seriously consider her amoral for her choice. And if anyone else does then I hope they consider the man as such also.

Pregnancy before marriage is different than being a virgin. I don't expect every 20 year old to a be nun or a hermit. I know it's (almost) 2011, but I don't think its old fashioned to marry first, then get pregnant.
I was joking about hollywood corrupting her. I bet there's a lot of parents though that worry about that.
Must be a lot of guys from Harvard and who knew her in college who are in tears now, lol. I remember reading she got a lot of attention in college (this was after star wars episode 1 came out). People would go through the directory, looking for her name and stuff. She's had a great career so far, not even 30 yet.
