I thought Kate's tasteful understatement and lack of glitz made her all the more respectable and admirable as the future queen. I think everybody was waiting to see whether she would rival Diana, but Kate didn't even go there. It would have been disastrous to try--Diana is still very much beloved, I think. Kate and William showed that they are making their own way.

I think the main reason that it was not naughty is that poor Kate is not very busty. If she would have had more in the boobie department, the low cut of the dress might have been a bit risque.

But for her, it was quite perfect and as you say - elegant.

Loved it, however did anyone notice when she got out of the car and was walking in it looked a bit, well, 'pointy'? I guess they were darts or whatever but I definitely noticed it and went 'yikes'...

I thought the dress was lovely. Timeless, classic, elegant. I do agree I would have liked the bouquet to be just a bit more. Not much though or it would have distracted from the dress.

Yes, a strapless gown would not have been allowed in W.A. Not to mention, the strapless gown is SO overdone at this point....Every other bride seems to go this route anymore. Over it.

I agree with you. Loved, loved the gown. I hope Kate's elegant style choice pushes the strapless gown out the window. Very few brides have the lean, small busted, firm body that looks good in a strapless.

I thought her wedding dress was beautiful, timeless. I also loved that her tiara was understated and small. She looked lovely.

I thought it was beautiful. I don't really understand the observations made by those who know fashion. 'It should/could have been more fashion forward--one didn't like the way the skirt fell--?:?

I really don't understand how her sister's dress was said to complement the bride's dress--the neckline was said to be similar. I lack knowledge of 'high fashion'.

I'm sort of finished with the whole event. The endless comparisons to 'Charles and Diana'--who remind me of JFK and Jackie and I suppose 'Barack and Michelle' could be the 'heirs'.

Michelle certainly has a more contemporary style than Jackie. Plenty of discussion on that in 'the colonies'. Let those across the pond analyze Kate's style to their heart's content.

One fresh tidbit--The POTUS is said to have a visit planned for this summer in the UK--meeting with the Queen. Why I do not know.

it "appeared" that way along the bustline until you get a closer look at the dress and realize it's the actual lace making it look like that

I liked the dress it was classy. I am *sooooo* tired of these strapless monstrosities that look good on NO ONE. I seriously hope that this starts a trend toward more classy, conservative wedding gowns.

I also saw a picture of Wills and I hope he really enjoys his hair. Because it's not going to be around much longer.

i loved it, elegant & class what a princess should be.
I love lace on a wedding dress, I thought she conformed to the requirements of W.A well, whilst having her own look.
she's an attractive girl, doesn't need to be over-the-top & sometimes, less IS more
