Whoa I sure stepped in at a bad time here..............
Recently when the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup, they partied at Foxwoods in CT and the bar tab came to $156,679.74. The server got an obligatory tip of $24,869.80. Not too shabby for a nights work.
A 16% tip, not bad for a bar. I doubt, though, that all of that went to ONE server.
I'm at work and can't pull up the article. What I want to know is, did he hand her a check? How does someone tip someone for that much money? I doubt he left a bunch of ones under the plate, lol.

Wow, that could pay off my student loans.
Also of note: Server Danielle definitely isn't a Stanley Cup champion, but she did make off with an obligatory $24,869.80 tip, which clearly makes her a winner.
Not clear, perhaps the tip was added to the bill. The article said the tip was "obligatory".

Thats about 15%, not huge, but not bad considering there was probably alot of high dollar spirits consumed.

Parties over 6 or 8 get obligatory tip of 15% in many places.
