Why would anybody want to be a celebrity? We are so unkind to them, especially when we see older stars who have had the audacity to age. You mean an 81 year old actress is supposed to still look 35? Of course it hurt a great deal to read all the rubbish people said. I don't blame Greta Garbo for trying to disappear. She was smart.

She seems awfully insecure about her looks. First she went way overboard with the corrective surgery (and she definitely had more than "fat injections" done), then she read the inevitable negative comments (why?), and now she's eating worms.
At 81, she'd be better served taking the high road. Diane Keaton endured twitter slings and arrows during her Golden Globes appearance but I don't recall her publicly whining about it.
Ms. Novak chose her career and it paid handsomely. No one forces aging celebs to make public appearances. They've been in the public glare long enough to understand you take the good with the bad.

And more power to them but none were known for their beauty or cast as sex objects like Kim Novak was.
