I miss these people professionally, the most, and wish I had seen them perform in person (except Billy Martin who I saw plenty of times on the ballfield):
John Pinette
Gene Pitney
Roy Orbison
Billy Martin
George Harrison
Freddy Mercury
Keith Whitley
Waylon Jennings
Vic Morrow
Jay Ward
Gregory Peck
George Michael
I'm well aware of all of the others, but I had to look up John Pinette, Gene Pitney, and Keith Whitley.
I'm surprised I wasn't aware of Keith Whitley, as I'm certainly aware of his widow Lorrie Morgan.
I've been an A's fan since they moved to Oakland (and a Giants fan even longer than that), so both of us got to see Billy manage (IIRC, you are originally from NY).
The lead singer of the Cranberries. Delores O'Riordon. Too young. Sad to lose such a great talent.
Dan Fogelburgh. A great songwriter, singer. Young.
Greg Allman. Great singer. That voice...
Tom Petty. Could not believe it and still can't. One of the Best Bad a*ses out there. Young.
Prince. Never listened to him till recently. Some good music there.
Margot Kidder. Liked her acting, her voice was unique.
John Mahoney. Liked him, seemed genuinely nice.
Mary Tyler Moore. What can you say?
Bill Paxton.
Glenne Headley. Young. Liked her acting a lot.
All I can think of right now.
I agree with all of the above except Greg Allman.
BTW, it's Dan Fogelberg, not Dan Fogelburgh. I love the lyrics of Leader of the Band, which was a tribute to his father.

I agree with all of these. Adding George Michael and Alan Rickman to the list.
This thread is old, I know, but I just watched In Memorium, a tribute to those who died this year. It is wonderful. Some of the featured people are Burt Reynolds, Aretha Franklin, The Bush’s, John McCain.
I wish I hadn't been too young to be interested in the old Hollywood stars when they were in their prime, back when Hollywood was glamorous - like Vivien Leigh, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Bogie and Bacall, Bette Davis, Judy Garland, Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Gary Grant, Paul Newman, Rock Hudson, Ingrid Bergman, Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Grace Kelly, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, etc. Hollywood's not the same today.
