Isn't it a nice convenience to be able to change channel if we don't like a show.
We can change channels? Really? The things you learn on these boards!
Reading comprehension, as Martha Stewart might say, is a good thing. As I posted, I love Judge Judy (except for her calling people names which, apparently, doesn't bother you). Byrd? Not so much. People are allowed to think critically and offer opinions without being told to change the channel (where's the snooze smiley?) because we (gasp!) criticize something.
As I've said, I love JJ all day long, but you won't see judges screaming at litigants and calling them names, either. Likewise, you won't see bailiffs giving people the stinkeye or looking annoyed if litigants don't hand him their supporting documents fast enough.
And if you think these courtroom shows aren't filmed for dramatization and entertainment , and thoroughly represent what goes on "in any courtroom," think again.
Byrd is a puke-puss.
Actually, she was notorious for calling people names, including stupid and moron, and being brash before her fame when she was a family court judge. But with her nationally syndicated program, she is hamming it up even more, or at least more frequently for the cameras.
Judge Judy has found her niche. She is good and entertaining. What else do you watch her for? She does give some advise but has. Lots of losers appear on her show.
