Dr. Ruth Westheimer has been talking about sex for almost four decades, and she has no intention of stopping anytime soon. Her latest book, The Doctor Is In: Dr. Ruth on Love, Life and Joie de Vivre, is out just in time for her 87th birthday in June.
Besides her sex therapy career, her life story is interesting. She was one of 300 Jewish children sent out of Germany to safety in Switzerland in the 1930s. She never saw her family again. When she returned to Frankfurt after the war, the street where her family's house had been was flattened and had no buildings. She learned that most of the people on her street went to Aushwitz, and that's probably where they died. Eventually, she moved to Israel.
