I have lots of favourite old stars. So many great performers. Ingrid Bergman is luminous and so beautiful in her 40s movies. Joan Crawford, still so watchable. But Vivian Leigh, although not making very many films, stands out for me. Watch her in Gone With The Wind........ so many old style actors in that film, that nowadays seem very dated. Not Vivian Leigh. She stands out in that movie, with a very distinct, modern acting performance. That film, and 'A Streetcar Named Desire' for me, make her an outstanding, real star.

Not only was she an excellent dancer, she also did some good films from the 40's - 50's plus
Broadway too.

I also have to mention Ernest Borgnine. Marty is one of my all time favorite movies. He was also wonderful as the Centurion in Jesus of Nazareth
