Gosh, just a day after Mary Tyler Moore passes, another television star I grew up watching is gone. I am really starting to feel old.

Guess this is a sign that I need to make each day really count.

Rest In Peace

Wow, 91.

RIP.

I definitely enjoyed Mannix, but I didn't start watching it until the last half of the original run. I've never seen any of the episodes where he had a boss who was one of the characters, I've never seen an episode with his original car (a '67 Oldsmobile Toronado), etc.

It's really hard for me to remember specific episodes. My dad was a private investigator and he'd laugh every time a sexy woman in a nightgown would come to the door. He'd joke, "Why doesn't that happen to me?"

I remember Mannix was a popular show and had a long, successful run.

Come on 2017, don't do us like 2016!

RIP, Mike.

I couldn't recount one episode lol, but I did watch Mannix. I always liked Mike Connors.

I didn't remember the show being on for 9 years, so i did a search. What I learned made sense. I only remember things that would have happened in the last half of the original run, and not the boss, the original car, and some other things that were gone by the time I started watching the show.

I noticed cars....probably more often on cop and 'private investigator' shows.

Connors died a week after being diagnosed with leukemia. According to Wikipedia, he and his wife had been married since 1949. In the early 2000s, a friend of mine (halfway between my mother and my grandmother in age) also died within a week or so after her leukemia diagnosis. She was in her 80s.

My uncle (father's brother) got leukemia when he was 55, and managed to stay with us for 5 years.

I wonder if Connors had been a smoker. My friend mentioned above had been a smoker, but quit many decades before she died. My uncle had been a heavy smoker, and didn't quit until right after his leukemia diagnosis.

I didn't remember "Mannix" having a nine-year run. I do remember the first year opening sequence, showing a computer sorting punch cards into several rows, until it spits out one with Mannix's name on it, which Joseph Campanela picks up.

Mannix took a lot of punishment over those nine years. Shot several times and knocked unconscious countless times.

RIP Mike Connors
