The Voice star Christina Grimmie (known by her Youtube username, zeldaxlove64) was shot dead by gunman who opened fire five times while she was signing autographs. He then killed himself (in murder-suicide), despite her brother's brave attempt to stop him.

Former Voice contestant Christina Grimmie shot dead in Orlando

Whilst I wasn't a fan, I was familiar with her. Watched some of her Youtube videos where she covered songs. She was a "thing" on Youtube in 2011. This is just so sad and tragic, easily preventable. She was so full of life, had a good career ahead of her. I feel so bad for her brother, who had to witness his sister suffer and then pass away. How do heartless people like that exist?

This makes me extremely angry. If you want to take your own life, fine, but leave the innocents out of it. I cannot even imagine dying at 22, and in such a senseless way. She was beautiful and full of life. I hope the killer is burning in hell for eternity!

I don't watch The Voice, nor had I heard of Christina Grimmie until earlier this morning, when I read the article about her murder. How awful. May she RIP.

What did she ever do to anyone?

She seemed well-liked. They had her back on The Voice season 9 to do a fashion segment which they wouldn't do unless the cast and crew liked her. The segment was just awful, but nothing to kill over.

My money is he was a stalker.

I can't remember who her coach was. Anyone remember?

This answered my question, she was on Adam Levine's team. Killer wasn't an Orlando resident, he traveled from somewhere else to shoot her. Police aren't saying where he's from yet.

Her coach was Adam Levine.

Just horrifying . . . and for her brother to have to witness it. Stalker was the first thing that came to mind for me, too. RIP Christina.

I followed Christina on YouTube for a few years before she was on The Voice. When I saw a preview for The Voice for season 6 and they were showing her audition clip - I knew I had to tune in that season.

It's just shocking. I still just remember watching her when she was a teen. I was hoping she would be discovered because she had an amazing voice. She was just starting her career, and this horrible event happened. I was hoping at first it was a celebrity hoax, but it isn't.
