I guess floundering is a matter of perspective as Katie IMO is booming with new album,upcoming concerts and videos, as for her looks? Katie looks good in any style she chooses.

She is not as big as she was when she was newer to the music scene so she is trying to find herself as an artist this happens to many artists they take job and try to recreate themselves as artists.
