When It Comes to Living With Uncertainty, Michael J. Fox Is a Pro
In his fourth memoir, “No Time Like the Future,” the actor and activist opens up about his newfound, uniquely upbeat brand of pessimism.
By Elizabeth Egan
The guiding principle for “No Time Like the Future” was inspired by Fox’s brother-in-law, Michael Pollan, a fellow writer known for his books “The Botany of Desire” and “How to Change Your Mind.” “He always says to me, ‘Velocity and truth. Velocity and truth. Keep it honest and keep it fast,’” Fox said. “I don’t want to be the guy who’s sitting on the pillow telling people, ‘Be the ball.’ I’m not going to tell anyone about anything other than my experience. I’m 59 years old, and I got no time for small talk.”

Thanks for posting it. I still can't believe he's still married to Tracy. What a Hollywood love story.
I'm a few years younger then him and disabled but not like him. He has 10 years on my disability. He was dealt some crappy cards. I'm glad he made the foundation, hopefully they do help finding a cure with medicine being as advanced as it is even if it won't help him. One of my friends lost her brother right before he turned 17. He had bought his dream car and working on it then was diagnosed. He went downhill very quickly. My friend and her 2 brothers were all adopted. The one that died was the youngest and the favorite. Her parents were beyond devastated. It's a horrible illness.
I have not read his books but have followed this recent story. He seems like a great guy who is being realistic in his outlook without sugar coating things. Hope his later years are comfortable for him as possible.
I dunno but he seemed like a nice fellow and I always enjoyed his movies.
I wish him peace and comfort with his battle.
One thing I truly wish for is, a quick death, regardless of my age.
Last thing I'd want is to be bedridden, suffering for weeks, months, years, and be a burden to anyone.
Big MJF fan (who isn't?). He's definitely a fighter!!
