Post News, Tyson grateful for life after "wild, strange" past.

CANNES, France (Reuters) - Heavyweight Mike Tyson, one of the most fearsome and notorious fighters in boxing's history, said on Saturday it was a miracle he was still alive after the drugs and violence of his past.

No doubt. The man obviously had a very difficult and troubled childhood. I give this man credit because not every one can focus their efforts on one endeavor, discipline themselves to become the best at it, excel when called upon, and become a multi-millionaire. Tyson had to overcome himself and his own destructive tendencies to accomplish this. he was a short heavyweight. He relied on conditioning, preparation, power, speed, timing, angles, and a killer instinct to rise to the top of his game against bigger opposition. We should all be so fortunate to be able to do the same in our lives.

I'm glad to see that Mike Tyson seems to have changed his ways. I used to love watching him fight although those fights lasted only seconds sometimes, usually only minutes. I hated to see what he had become. Kudos to him for turning his life around, if, indeed, that is what he has done.

I couldn't have said it better. I think as he gets older, he is just realizing it's time to grow up.
