I think maybe all the RIP threads should just be put in a separate subcategory. It is kind of depressing to pop on here to see who is doing what and see RIP RIP RIP every other thread. People who want to know who died now - should have their own subcategory.
Just scroll on past. For some, an RIP brings to mind positive memories and discussion about the person's life work which can be a good thing. No one is forcing you to click on any C-D thread OP
Ha, I was just thinking this recently, that it's been kind of depressing in here lately. I don't think obits need their own subcategory, though. In fact, that might be even more depressing, almost like a virtual, online graveyard.
I'm for leaving the threads here. My one gripe is that some do not post a URL nor do they quote any of the obituary or news article so you end up having to google it if you're interested in reading more.

Boomer and their parents generation are getting on; people are dying, simple fact of life.
Leaving aside those involved with drugs or horrible accidents (such as Treat Williams) good part of celebrities obits of late are those who were in their 60's or above.
It's same falling off the perches that's happening to non famous as well.
