I started watching Seinfeld during it's popularity, when the episodes were good, and funny. I do not like the first several seasons, including the episodes with "Crazy Joe Davola".

Season 4 - the season in which Crombie's/Davola's five episodes occur - is widely considered the best of the Seinfeld run. In addition to the groundbreaking meta storyline of Jerry Seinfeld writing a TV series starring himself (including the Russell Dalrymple sub-storyline), and the Joe Davola storyline, it features The Contest and The Junior Mint and The Virgin, among other classics.

I've never seen an episode of Seinfeld that I didn't think was funny, if not outright hilarious. Its reputation is deserved.
