I always suspected Jackie Mason was a racist due to his incessant slandering of Arabs, and now we know due to his referring to Barack Obama using the Yiddish version of the N-word.

Quote:
Comedian Jackie Mason used what some say is a racial epithet in describing President Barack Obama during his act Thursday night, infuriating at least several people in the crowd.

During a performance at Feinstein's at Loews Regency in NYC, Mason referred to Obama as a "schwartza" -- some say it's equivalent to the "N" word --

Seems like Jackie should be wearing a white hood and burning crosses! Oy vey!

Not so sure I would race to call him a racist. He is entitled to freedom of speech. And he is correct in saying that Chris Rock makes a lot of statements in his acts that could be construed as racist. People are sooo quick to scream racist at a caucasion and not so much for a non-caucasion.

Jackie Mason, insults everyone equally.
If he's a racist, he's an equal opportunity one.

Get over it.

Jackie Mason is less relevant than Yosemite Sam. In fact, I'd rather watch Yosemite Sam.

Mason has to be controversal and outrageous because he is not funny, is a has-been, and is fading fast...

First off, what slander of Arabs does he say? Keep in mind that for something to be slander what is said is not true at all. Also keep in mind that many of the world's hijackings and suicide bombings are committed by muslims, many of whom are arabs.

secondly, here is the exact paragraph from your linkDuring a performance at Feinstein's at Loews Regency in NYC, Mason referred to Obama as a "schwartza" -- some say it's equivalent to the "N" word -- others say it's just part of the Yiddish culture and a literal translation of the word "Black."

get over yourself. It's OK for black comedians to be racist but not white comedians. get bent

Race baiters always looking for a fight of course, and a scapegoat. The younger generation(s) have been acutely "trained" by a PC society gone mad to look for any and every possible racial intonation and innuendo. Clint Eastwood was the public target a few weeks ago, who next? So look out old timers, keep your "racist" thoughts to yourselves.... He was relaying how people used to be able to laugh at themselves and tell jokes about their ethnicities, but of course can't be done any longer, due to the vast PC police volunteers listening in behind every door. I would say stop crying wolf til the right time comes. When Obama's thug federales come into full force, start whining....but by then it will be too late.

I think it would be difficult for an outspoken Jew, and Jackie is certainly one of those, to refrain from referring to the Arabs.

It would be almost like expecting an American to ignore the illegal immigrant problem from Mexico.

He's not a racist, he's from another time and place. Saw him live once. I laughed till I cried. And yes, many of the jokes were ethnic, and some were aimed at my ethnic group, and so what? The sooner these things are once again off the taboo list, the sooner this country will have gone full circle.
