All of this on Easter Weekend too. Somehow the date (Good Friday) seems a bit ironic.

I am a big fan and have seen all his Mad Max movies, 3 Lethal Weapon films, The Bounty, The River, The Year of Living Dangerously, Braveheart, What Women Want, and think he's great. I just watched Maverick on TV for the 2nd time. His personal life really doesn't really interest me.

I don't agree with Mel Gibson's esoteric religious beliefs. I also assume he shares some of his father's ideology which borders on the irrational. IIRC, his father doesn't recognize the Holocaust.
Way too opionated for me but I have seen many of his films and enjoyed them.
