Just when you thought the Jacksons couldn't get any tackier, be any grosser or show any less taste or decorum, they do the most unspeakably classless thing ever-- they decide to sell tickets for $25 each to MJ's funeral. What's next-- they let you crack the lid and peek inside for an additional $100? Have a photographer take your picture doing a piano shimmy on the coffin for $500? Sell a drop of his blood in a necklace vial for $1000?

Please bury him already, before that glass coffin parading through downtown drawn by a Cinderella carriage is back in the works.

They have to pay for heavy police prescence, sanitation clean-up and rent for the Staples Center. It makes sense, since so many want a sneek peek at him.

Then don't rent the Staples Center. Let people watch it on TV like they did with Princess Di. Or have it at Neverland, since the state of CA has said they would approve it. Or do the dignified thing and have a private service.

Having the circus parade the elephants in while the pallbearers parade Michael out is hardly dignified. But it will be memorable.

According to CNN:

Quote:
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Fans wishing to attend singer Michael Jackson's memorial service next week will have to register for the 11,000 free tickets, organizers said Thursday.

Details on how to register for the 10 a.m. (1 p.m. ET) service at the 20,000-seat Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Tuesday are to be announced Friday.
Jackson's family will hold a private ceremony before the public memorial service, his brother said Thursday.
Speaking to CNN's Larry King, Jermaine Jackson said the ceremony will be held Tuesday morning, but he did not say where.

So yeah, this $25 charge was just a rumor/false information.

gee, more rumors and false info...who would have thought? *sigh*

Free tickets and Jermaine mentioned on Larry King Live more memorials in other parts of the country but I don't know what stage of planning that is in.

It's not glass, but it is a $25,000 coffin:
