Love him or hate him the guy is on the right course about Gabby. I wish her the best in Hollywood, but if she doesn't lose weight there won't be much of a future for her.
Here is one of his exact quotes, which I find appalling.
"There's the most enormous, fat black chick I've ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone's pretending she's a part of show business and she's never going to be in another movie," he said. "She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she's never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?"
I saw her on Leno and she said she wanted to do a romantic movie. I was thinking to myself, why would i want to see her in a romantic movie? I can see her doing movies but nothing like that. Yes I think she should lose weight. Not for hollywood but for herself.
Stern is a thin skinned bully. This girl is an easy target, she didn't need a fading irrelevent disc jockey to point out her shortcomings. Let someone call him a big, gangly, ugly jew that looks like a turkey vulture with a wig...he'd be calling his lawyer faster than he could say "lesbian tickle-fight" for the topic of his next sophmoric show.

Stern is a a-hole, plain and simple. I'm sick of the double standard that allows fat men to land roles but people flip out when they see an overweight woman. god forbid people go beyond looks and look at talent (b/c, let's face it, if the industry was all about looks, Stern sure as heck wouldn't have done well). according to the article, she already has some roles lined up. I'm not really worried about her career and who am I to worry about her health? (she isn't dumb, she'll take care of her own health and doesn't need random people telling her this)
She probably never would have landed her Oscar nominated role in 'Precious' if she wasn't the "most enormous, fat black chick." She really brought it in that movie and while she isn't your typical gorgeous uber thin model type, her talent can defy the trend provided she can land the right roles. I wouldn't doubt she loses some weight though but I also won't count her out for being able to score another hit. Time will tell I guess.

The last segment of society that is still acceptable (to some, apparently) to bash - fat people. He will go on working, folks will rally behind him and pat him on the back for his keen observation.
I hope Gabby doesn't take anything he says with any kind of concern, and keeps moving on in the positive direction she is already headed. Acting talent is not contingent to a person's waist size - I doubt she is planning to go after the same roles that Cameron Diaz or Jennifer Aniston are vying for. But to say that she has no future in acting unless she loses weight - that's just not true.
As much as I would like to disagree with Howard Stern (because I simply detest the A*hole), he's got a point. Take Jennifer Hudson for example; she even won an oscar, yet after the oscar, I haven't seen her in any other movie other than 'Sex & The City' movie. At least Jennifer Hudson has a beautiful voice as a backup if acting doesn't work out in the long run. Other big black female actresses usually have backup talent such as Monique (she's also a stand up comedian), then there's the multi-talented Queen Latifah (singer, rapper, comedian). But even so, you still don't see them in many movies, let alone romantic movies. Heck, even Halle Berry with her model looks is not getting many roles.
Anyone who thinks Gabby will do okay in Hollywood based on her talent alone is extremely naive. How many times has Hollywood come up with a role specifically for an overweight actress? By the end of the day, it's still Hollywood.
