I have a 2+ yr old 3GS that I have in a TPU grippy skin type case. Before that I just had a rubbery like skin that wrapped around. I have a screen non glare film on it that has been there the entire time and was put on at an Apple store.
I have a 3 and 5 yr old that play with my phone, I carry it around in my purse and diaper bag/backpack and occasionally shove it in my jeans pocket. It has been dropped a few times on the garage concrete floor.
NO problems at all. The TPU case is awesome. It is grippy but doesn't pull my hair like the rubbery one did. I am getting an new one in the next week or so and plan to put another TPU case on the 4S and antiglare screen protector. Nothing else.
