What makes the TX a good model, southernlady5464
When I was looking at the differences in all the palms, I considered all the options, the TX had everything I needed. I looked at the reviews and altho the reviews aren't as positive as the Windows Mobile products, I much preferred the Palm products. I still had an iPaq so I DID have a basis for comparison. Battery life in my TX is much longer than the iPaq ever was, and it just haded all I needed. I didn't need the stuff the Lifebook offered. Too many bells and whistles. Liz

Default Hp Ipaq, Palms - are they obsolete?

Hi
I had an HP Ipaq years ago and I loved it. It got stolen. Recently I have found that I'd love to be able to do word docs and spreadsheets on the go. I went to all the electronic stores and no one has any handheld PCs anymore.
I was thinking about ordering one online but was worried about support if this medium is dying.
I really don't want to pay the data plan for an Iphone or a Blackberry or something.
I have never had a Palm.
What do you think? Obsolete? Palm better than Ipaq?
If I get an Ipaq is it woth the extra 200 dollars to get the 211 vs the 111?
HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld at Staples®

Thanks!

Honestly it looks like you'd pay the extra money for an increase in memory (64mb vs. 128mb). Beyond that they seem to be the same device. Have you thought about the SoMo devices? Or maybe a refurb device off ebay?

Sadly, the Palm OS is the best OS (imho) - but is rapidly losing market share.

It's a crime really...
