How is this scarier than regular old caller ID? Just the picture part? Using default settings, your Google+ pic can already be seen by the whole world on the web anyway.
But what really annoys me about this is that I have gone to great lengths to associate pictures with all my contacts. Manually taken pics of friends and family.
Now this? Lame Google....

Haha, well, that is exactly why my Google profile pic is of...well it's something I clipped from online advertisement. As for my real name...eh, I really don't care. If I wanted to remain that anonymous, I wouldn't call from my own phone in the first place. Besides, if my real name popped up on a friends phone, they might not know it was me anyways.
What if you do not have a Google+ account, though? Most of my friends don't. And I'm pretty sure if I gave Google my number, it was fake.

If I'm remembering correctly, Google texts a code to the number you provide and you confirm with the code. Also, if you have an android device, they most likely already have your number.
I don't think I've ever given Google my number; sometimes when I access my gmail they ask about my cell number, but I've always chosen the option later. I suppose I'm safe for now, correct? I do have a Google+ account since I like making comments on YouTube.

That is what I thought because I did have an Android device. I searched my Google account as best I could and could not find a phone number anywhere.
