My wife dropped her phone. She has a case for it, but it wasn't on at the time. There is now a crack on the front glass(maybe it's plastic, not sure). She got the Phone at a local Verizon retailer. Would this be fixable locally? If she has to send it somewhere she will likely just get a new one. Thanks for any ideas.

A lot of local guys specialize fixing cracked iPhone glass. Google or check your local phone book. YP app works.

You can also fix them yourself.. It's not really that complicated. I've fixed a couple iPods but our last "surgery" we accidentally put too much pressure on the digitizer so now there's a black spot. I buy the parts at Gadget Menders but there are other places.

However, it's cheaper to do it yourself then hire someone or buy a new one. If it's just one crack and not a spider cracks, I'd just keep using it as long as the touchscreen still works it shouldn't be more than annoying.

She found a place. They popped it out and put new glass in. I think it wasn't that expensive. Thanks
