One of my co-workers has one, and it takes two sim cards, and it's heavy. I looked them up online, and Walmart.com sells them. They're unlocked, and can be used with any carrier. Plus, the prices aren't too high.
Never heard of them, they seem to get average reviews, for new phones their OS is outdated, looked at a couple at wally world, Android 4.2 seems to be common, some don't even list the version (not a good sign), and they aren't likely to get any update. Also saw a couple Windows 8.1 phones.
I had tried some off brand phones, not Blu but other similar phones but I found it best to stick with name brands. Nowadays you can buy a Samsung and other brand dual sim phone (if that is what you seek) and single sim phones pretty reasonable, so my thoughts are why bother with an no name phone.
I'm not planning to get one. I was just curious, since my co-worker showed it to me, and I had never heard of it. I figured if I posted it on here, someone would have heard of them.
Check out the reviews on Amazon. They actually get good reviews for a phone that price. If you want something cheap and unlocked, it might be worth checking out. It won't be the latest and greatest but it's a way to get a smartphone unlocked for cheap.
I received (as a test) 4 BLU Tanks to use for a year. I gave them to my field instructors as they slosh through the mud and dirt. With the exception that there are no or few product specifc accessories (had to use generic or items designed for another brand) overall everyone was pleased and they survived multiple falls in the woods, dropped into alake, and left outside in the freezing rain on top of a truck.
They are not some robust I-Phone 6 right out of the box, but they are designed as all south american and european phones are designed, to travel virtually anyplace just by adding a sim card. All their phones (except for some select Walmart items) are unlocked.
The only downside was if you perform a factory reset, they all defaulted to Spanish and you have to go in and change the language. You also have to deal with very few carriers having any support material for these phones. However, for the price you pay and the features of the phone, they are considered a very good purchase.
Did you try, and were you able, to pair your Tanks with Bluetooth in a vehicle ??
I recently bought a Tank II and have been unable to get it to pair with my 2008 Ford w/Sync option. The previous owner had it working before with a Blackberry and a Motorola phone.
Keep getting "Pairing Failed" after inputting code from Sync.
FWIW, for the price,($30) it is otherwise a nice little phone.
I don't know about the bluetooth , but will ask one of the crew if they had any issues. I had a Dash 3.5 a few years ago and all the options worked. I did have some issues while traveling with it switching/searching the 2 sims for service, but that was probably more my incorrect settings.
Got the replys back for the staff; generally they have no connection issues that pinpoints a specific thing. One had a connection issue with a headset but the others had nothing similar. One of them can't sync with certain rentals, but thats about it.
