Just wondering. Read there wwrestling many un needed extras.

I assume you are referring to 'bloatware'? Yea, there's a lot of bloatware on Samsung devices. However, this is no different then your 5. Which also had bloatware. You'll be fine, Get it.

If you don't like Samsung bloatware you shouldn't be buying a Samsung phone you should go get a Oneplus or Google Pixel phone. Samsung bloatware has many key advantages over Google or Apple devices. The mail app is actually better than both Google and Apple's mail app. Samsung phone app is better than Google or Apple.

I upgraded from the S7 edge to the S9 plus and have not regretted it once. Newer model is much nicer and definitely faster than the prior one. Since you have a prior model, the learning curve will be very minimal, you will learn the new features of the Oreo Android version and I suspect you will be pleased. Best wishes.

Most unwanted applications can be deleted with little to no risk.

Just upgraded from an S6+ edge to a Note 9 last week. Very nice phone that Note 9.
