22 Great phones with headphone jacks you can buy right now

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed!!

There are a lot of great choices on there.
Are certified refurbished phones worth buying? I always thought I should only buy new, but maybe not?

Refurbished can be good. Mrs5150 got one a few years back and it lasted for 5 months before it died. We only buy new since then.

I don't like refurb'ed phones UNLESS it has a replaceable battery. You never know if they put a brand new battery in one.

The Motorola's mentioned in that article are good choices.

How do you back up your phone? I back mine up to my Mac so I don’t have to buy a bunch of extra cloud storage for all of my photos. Plus I like not relying on their cloud for photo backup, since my Mac is also backed up to an external drive.

You can also use a Windows PC and iTunes to make backups.

Some of us don't backup our phones at all. I synch my photos to DropBox. There's nothing else I really need to backup.

I know you can use a PC.

I prefer local storage to cloud for photos. I lost a bunch of photos, years worth, trusting a cloud. Things have improved since then, but I’ll never get those photos back.

LG V20 is potentially a good option. Last flagship phone with a replaceable battery (2 year old model) and selling new in box for less than $200 now. Great audio and of course a headphone jack.

Downside is it won’t get future Android releases. But hard to beat for the features.

I am not sure where I said the benefit was in connecting to the computer?.

The seamless interface between Mac, iPhone, iPad and watch includes everything from airdrop, handoff, messages, omnifocus and so on. It basically forms a computing ecosystem. Without the Mac my phone would be only half as useful as it is.

Sure you can do some of that with third party apps but it’s not the same.

Only buy refurbished from Apple. My daughter has had a refurb 7 for nearly 2 years, I have one that was new. Hers has substantially better battery life than mine.

If you really have your heart set on the 6 just make sure you remember “bendgate” as it was called and make sure you try not to carry it in a pocket.

Apple refurbished always include a new battery and the warranty to match.
