so i have the pixel 2 and i think its an awesome phone. nothing magical, just simple and solid. i have one huge problem, the port on the phone doesnt lock in the cable so charging became a major problem. i got a battery case which solved it but multiplied the size of my phone by about 4. now im having problems with the battery case (already got rid of one battery case that started to fail). so i think its time to move on.

anyway, i dont like a phone that is too big so im not interested in any XL's. i want wireless charging to hopefully eliminate my current problem from happening in any future phone. it seems like the obvious choice is the pixel 4. anyone have it and have any opinions?

That's a fine upgrade for you. You'll be very happy with it.

I have the original Pixel and am looking to get the 4. Will it be seamless to transfer all my apps, pictures, texts, etc to the new phone? When I got the original I think I had the Samsung Galaxy S5 and it was not easy, I had to go to the Verizon store and have them do it.

I need a new phone only because the battery isn't lasting very long anymore, otherwise I love the original.

The Pixel 4 is only an incremental improvement over the Pixel 3 (and that's arguable). The Pixel 3 is an incremental improvement over the Pixel 2. So, yes, two minor incremental improvements would typically be noticeable. Especially in regards to the software.

I have gone from Pixel -> Pixel 2 -> Pixel 3 -> Pixel 4 -> Pixel 3. The only reason is the battery life. The Pixel 4 batter is smaller than the Pixel 3 battery and with the 90hz screen, it lasts noticeably shorter. Otherwise, the Pixel 4 is a good phone and having the tele lens is nice.

One thing to note, as well, is that the Pixel 4 does not include unlimited cloud storage for photos and videos like the predecessors (Pixel 2,3 and 3a for a limited time, and Pixel for forever)/

What he said. Going from a 2 to a 4 is an upgrade...but not if you were going from a 3.

I'd save the $$ and go for a 3a. You spend less, get the incremental upgrade, and the headphone jack.
