The Pixel 6 Pro seems to have sold out quickly. At Google's store, I was able to put a 256gb one in my cart, but couldn't get through to checkout for over 30'. When I did, it went out of my cart...and that was pre-0rder!
I went to B&H, was able to pre-order before they went to OOS, but who knows when it will ship.
I need the new phone because my Pixel 3 is splitting on one side - the back is coming off, and I have a major trip (first in over 2 years) coming in November.
What makes you say that? In store pirchases are supposed to start October 28, although they'll probably sell out in an hour or two. Also, BH Photo says in their product listing "Expected availability - shipping will begin Thu Oct 28"

They offered the $100 ear buds for free so I am not surprised that sold out so fast.

They also priced the phones more competitively than many commentators expected.
It'll be interesting to see if mine ships on or before the release date or if I'm stuck somewhere back in the queue. When I last ordered something before the release date, it shipped for arrival to me on the release date, but that wasn't a phone. It was a camera.
Looks like I'm near the front of the order queue. The order is processing, charge card charged. Should see it by early next week. At the Google store, you can order one now, but the ship date is January.
Just got a notice of shipping with an arrival tomorrow! As I suspected. I had pre-ordered a Canon camera two years ago and they did the same thing - shipped for arrival on launch day.
This timing is good because my current camera's split on the back continues to grow...
