Seems I can swap my 3 year old Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ for a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G for about $299.

Might have to visit the ATT folks.

Has anyone done this, and if so, what is the fine print other than re-upping with ATT for 36 months on an unlimited plan?

That's the only fine print. Sammy is famous for these trade deals, it's not really an ATT thing beyond committing to a new contract. Enjoy your new Note (because that's really what the Ultra is.) Not sure why they didn't keep that name.

ooooo... What fun!

I may go to the store, because my phone has a Whitestone Dome glass screen protector and that protector has a nick and cracks in it.

Getting a new flagship for $299 after a few years?
Seems relevant to the question at the heart of this thread:

They don't do the "Official Inspection" at the store. As long as the screen is fine and it turns out you will get your trade in.

All my looking, at Samsung, at ATT, and at Best Buy websites has me more confused.

Seems like a trip to ATT store is in order. I would like to hold one anyway.
Since a $300 billing credit at ATT is part of the deal, might as well hear it from them.
Too bad. Samsung has exclusive colors. I sorta like their exclusive Sky Blue unit.

Of course, the nerve-wracker is that credits aren't going to happen within the 60 day credit card challenge period.

Oooo.... I am intrigued by the Pixel 6 Pro, but sticking with ATT. IF ATT had Pixel 6 Pro and a nice promo, that would be highly intriguing.

It appears to me that Samsung Ultra deal costs are $100 more vs. ATT. A need for more research is indicated. My cheapskate gene has some control.

So, I got on ATT chat and got one story, that I liked, but didn't really fully believe.
So, I went to the ATT store and got another story, that I didn't like, and don't really fully believe.
So, in the morning I will CALL ATT and see which story they support, if either.

It ain't like I HAVE to do this, but now the intrigue is enough I want to see it through.

Question:
Does 5G use more data than 5Ge/4GLTE, if a feller is downloading the same file?
This claim was pretty astonishing to me.
"It's just how the phone works."
"The same file download? Uses more data?" (I know I looked skeptical. LOL )
"Yes. It is the speed that makes it happen."

Hmmmmmm.....

I am a bit of a skeptic. The claim that a 5G phone will use more data than 4G when downloading the same file sure tripped my skepticism meter.
Pegged it past the red line.
I smell a commission op for the feller at ATT store who figured my gray hair covered up a slow brain.

So, I went to my dearest closest comrades in the UK with the question.

"Does 5G use more data than 4G?

The short answer is no – 5G doesn’t use more data than 4G. If you download a file or load up a web page, it will take exactly the same amount of data to do that over 5G as over 4G."

LOL I am wholly unsurprised at this opinion. Of course, I recognize that I may consume more data with my usage, if I can download it faster, or if I go for the higher resolution photos and videos. THAT is on ME, not 5G.
