Hey All,

My gf and I are from Tega Cay, SC near Charlotte and have decided to elope the end of October in beautiful Charleston! It's the 2nd marriage for both of us so we are going alone and hope to have a romantic little vacation.

We know there are a lot of romantic restaurants in Charleston, but this is our wedding night and we will be dressed as such... so we don't want to have people staring at us through dinner. Does anyone know of an intimate, romantic restaurant for a very special evening?

Thanks in advance!

I have always found the atmosphere at 82 Queen to be quite romantic......outside/courtyard dining or inside dining in small intimate dining rooms. Check out their website.....the food is great too, by the way.

Oh, and congratulations in advance! Enjoy your wedding and honeymoon in Charleston!

Thanks, SCBeaches! Do you think we should request a table outside? Do they serve outside in the evening?

Thanks again!

Yes they do serve outside. I would think that in October the weather would be perfect! It is a little hot and sticky trying to dine outside in Charleston in July and August. The tables in the courtyard are arranged for privacy too. Tropical plants and a fountain out there too if my memory serves me right. I would definitely make reservations and also let them know it is your wedding! I'm sure you'll get special treatment! It wouldn't hurt to ask if you can have an inside table in the event that it rains.

Go to: www.82Queen.com, then click on 82 Queen News (left side of page), the click on View Photo Gallery to see pictures of the inside and outside of the restaurant, read about its history, see the menu, book reservations, etc.

I'll add McCrady's. It is not small but just seems to have a more intimate vibe.

I would say Peninsula Grill as well but wouldn't want to twalk down market in wedding gear.

How about a catered in room dinner? Stay at Charleston Place or another nice Inn Downtown and have a meal planned in your room.

One more suggestion: Circa 1886 at the Wentworth Mansion.

Congratulations!
I'll add Fulton Five. They have nice outdoor seating as well.
