While we are on the topic, do you guys know any good GM dealers? My g6 is still under warranty haven't had any issues with it but good to know beforehand when wife brings it up.
Marchant Chevrolet out on 17S near Hollywood, it's a drive but good people...
I'm glad I don't have to deal with that, no one's ever worked on any my stuff with the exception of one front end alignment but me.... my last fuel pump, $125 for the part and 30mins for me to install...
it helps that I bought a house with a nice sized shop in the rear, done everything from brakes to engine rebuilds back there!

Thats how I have been for years, but between homes at the moment, so makes things a little harder. I always bought whatever specialty tools I needed for a job and would still end up cheaper then taking it in to do it myself and now I have the tools so next time it will be cheaper/easier.
I do admit oil changes... I have started getting lazy, there are always coupons floating around for $14.99 oil changes, costs more in parts to do it yourself. So I go for that, most times and just do an occasional one myself to just get me in and under the car checking things out.

I'm a mechanic by trade, been one for nearly 30 yrs... it wouldn't look good for my side business if I took my stuff somewhere else to get it worked on... lol
plus I don't care for the work most of the other mechanics I've seen over the years do, I'm a little more picky...
