We are moving to Mt. Pleasant (Park West) later this month. Our area seems to be served by Comcast. How is their service and reliablity? Does anyone use them for internet connectivity? We have Dish now, as our area was served by Time Warner and they were awful. Don't really want to go through the hassle or set top boxes and the setup involved with the dish and would rather just plug and play. I hear lots of issues with Comcast, but would rather hear from someone that actually uses the service.

Thanks

I'm interested in this thread too... We're moving to the Charleston area soon and fast Internet is a must because we both work from home!

Comcast for internet, honestly. I've used it for 10+ years and never really had any significant downtime.

I can say the same for Time Warner, pretty reliable here in Summerville.

We don't have Comcast here....

I can't stand the Comcast administration. I only had the cable/internet for six months at one apartment and my boys' had it for a year in Atlanta. Service wasn't great.

As for product....I now have Dish & ATT and have no problems at all -- not even on really rainy days.....no loss of SAT.

Comcast pricing is great for the first six months and then BAM it goes up. I know they all do that but Comcast's increase seems to be unreasonable.

Comcast, James Island, Sunday at 5PM: pinging a server in Palo Alto, CA...8.53M download, 3.28M upload, ping time 102ms....off times I have been as high as 13M down, 4M up. Service has been flawless. I am used to Hughesnet speeds, cable has been a real treat, but now going to Millenicom (Verizon 3G), and slowing down to 3G will be hard to get used to...

Regards

Ha! As a web designer, I appreciate the ping. A very specific way of answering.
